You ask: Is true love and happiness worth seven and a half cents?
Hmmm. . . well let's look at the big picture. That's 7.5 cents x 40 hours a week x 52 weeks a year, which is $156.00 a year. Adjusted for inflation (from 1957, the year of The Pajama Game,) using the US Inflation Calculator, that would be $1,293.22 per year. Over forty years that would be at least $51,728.80. Is it worth it for "true love and happiness" . . . Naaah!
But is there really such a thing as "true love and happiness?" Or is that just a state of mind, or an elusive dream? Or something one discovers in brief moments, when least expected, as they are going about fulfilling their purpose in life?
